Ian grew up in a small country town in Victoria and worked mainly in the automotive industry while pursuing a career in music as a singer/songwriter.
Over the years he also developed an interest in painting but only recently has he been able to realize his ambition to exhibit. Encouraged by recent sales, Ian has been in the studio creating some more exciting works.
Influences of Jackson Pollock could be seen in his early works but the latest offerings have taken more form and intensity. All this and thoughtful subject matter give the new work a certain poignancy.
In recent years Ian has turned his talents to hand carving Emu eggs, as another form of artistic expression. His favorite subject being Australian bush scenes.
Ianís works are sought after by collectors worldwide.
Ian has exhibited across Queensland, recently exhibiting at Parliament House in Brisbane.
